So you’ve had every test done under the sun, and they can’t find anything wrong.
We can help!
We are specialists in finding the causes of problems such as chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia! Here are a few things your doctor may never have told you:
- Genetic breakdown – we can see in live blood analysis a damaged monocyte – monocytes should have one nuclei, and yet when our telomeres (which protect our genes from damage) shrink, the monocytes start having more than one nuclei – we can see this and determine if this is part of your chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia.
- Liver Toxicity – the liver does a million things – we all know this, but it’s not a very good multi-tasker. If it is overloaded by stress hormones, adrenalin hormones, pain hormones or toxicity from an environmental cause, then quite often it just shuts down. Normal liver tests only show us when the liver is breaking down. We can see signs with live blood analysis and bio-impedance analysis… further signs that the medical tests aren’t looking for.
- Caffeine/Sugar/Wheat/Dairy Addiction – if our body has low cellular energy (which we can determine correctly from VLA/bio-impedance analysis testing), then we turn to foods, caffeine, sugar, wheat and dairy to give us what we need… Wheat and dairy, particularly, can cause total exhaustion if we have a DPP4 enzyme deficiency – this can cause wheat and dairy to create ‘opioids’ in the bloodstream. Opioids can cause either total exhaustion or manic behaviour depending on how it affects us. If it’s caffeine and sugar, these exhaust the adrenal glands further and make the chronic fatigue last longer.
- Allergies: quite often people have NO signs of allergies other than exhaution. Over the years we’ve seen allergy signs such as depression and anxiety, stress, hormonal toxicity, pain, headaches and migraines and more. We use live blood analysis and kinesiology to determine how allergic the body is and what we’re allergic to. This is VERY DIFFERENT to medical allergy testing. We also find sensitivites and intolerances, which can cause all of the huge problems that allergies do. We also do a rotational diet, where appropriate, and slowly re-introduce foods and find out if they are causing issues.
- Insulin Resistance: Doctors will always check for blood sugar, but rarely (we’ve NEVER seen it) checked for insulin resistance. You can have the most perfect diet, but not be getting nutrients out of your food. All cells, including the brain, require insulin for energy. If your body is insulin resistant, you are not getting energy from your food, you are burning muscle and muscle nutrients for energy… this is a very bad, pre-diabetic condition.
- What do we suggest for long-term improvement and recovery from chronic fatigue syndrome/fibromyalgia? Firstly we need to safely, carefully and slowly detoxify. We use a combination of infrared saunas, frequency specific microcurrent, natural supplements such as Adrenotone, Resist X, Meta B Complex. For oestrogen detoxification we use Estrofactors, Meta I3C, OestroCalm. For Adrenal and nerve regeneration we use Adaptan, Stressan, Relaxan and Resilian. For liver toxicity we use Phyto Essentials, PhytoPro, Lipogen and Silymarin. We also recommend lymphatic drainage massage and kinesiology to help detoxify emotional toxins, liver toxins etc.

Why Detox?? Is detoxification really necessary?
Many of us are oblivious to the amount of toxins we breathe in, digest, and create daily. Estimates range up to 70,000 toxins that we breathe in daily, and up to 10,000 that we ingest. The humble shiny green apple has between 36-70 chemicals just to make it shiny! Our power plants (there are 23 in Australia and 100’s throughout the world) release 4000 tonnes of mercury into the atmosphere every year. No wonder our waterways have fish, known to be full of mercury and other toxins…
If we have ANY health problems, there’s over a 90% chance our inflammation, acidity, toxicity can be helped through detoxing. Many doctors say 100% are caused by toxicity of numerous kinds. Our body’s simply can’t catch up with the amounts of toxins in the environment, and release them all.
There are viral and bacterial connections to many chronic health problems, fungal and candida connections to just about every disease. Everything from arthritis to glandular fever, chronic fatigue to hashimotos, asthma to ulcers, has been linked to a gut problem, where these infections find a home base to live – not a good thing!
For someone who has allergic symptoms: sneezing, runny nose, sinusitis, rashes, hayfever, itches, often we have stored toxins, which are positively charged and creating inflammation. Everytime our nose runs and our eyes itch, not only are there toxins plaguing our already unhappy body, but we are also storing inflammatory hormones, and often the drugs we use to treat these problems.
With aspergers, autism, ADD, ADHD there are links to heavy metals and allergens. There are numerous studies which show high levels of heavy metals in hair mineral analysis, along with large amounts of stress hormones, such as cortisol and adrenalin, running through the system. Nearly all show intolerances to wheat and dairy. The organs of elimination and digestion simply don’t have the capacity to break them down properly.
In issues associated with weight loss, it is a well established fact that people who detoxify lose weight faster and don’t reach the hump that others reach. Fat tissue also creates at least 30 inflammatory substances, all of which then need to be stored in the body, often in the fat tissue, once again.
With inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis, it is often shown that large amounts of toxins are attached to the bone cells. This creates inflammation and causes degenerations to the area.

If you are after weight loss only, you can do it easily, but it’s not safe to lose muscle! Therefore we focus on permanent weight loss through aiming to lose only fat in our fat loss programme!
Many people want to lose body fat simply so they look good, however, having a high percentage of body fat is known to be one of the risk factors in just about every chronic disease known to man. Elevated fat mass also increases muscle aches and pains and reduces energy and causes chronic fatigue and general tiredness.
In Australia and New Zealand, obesity is skyrocketing with 55-65% of men and women currently overweight or obese. 20-25% of children are also overweight or obese. The good news is that even reducing your body fat by 10% greatly reduces your risk of chronic disease. We all know it, but here are 5 great reasons to lose weight…
- Looking good means feeling great. Excess body fat can affect your self-esteem. Meeting a challenge, improving your health and looking better can improve your sense of accomplishment, self-esteem and health in countless ways. You can do it!
- Improved energy levels. Overweight and obese people have much less energy than people who have a healthy body weight. More energy means more vitality.
- Reduced risk of developing many chronic diseases. Being overweight dramatically increases your risk of developing a number of chronic diseases. Losing weight and keeping it off improves your long term health!
- Healthy ageing. Obesity is related to unhealthy, premature ageing. Consider fat loss a type of “life insurance.”
- You can empower yourself. Losing body fat is an incredibly powerful experience. You are actualising something that only you have the power to do and only you will truly experience the personal reward.
Our fat loss programme, using regular cellular analysis (to ensure muscle maintenance and fat loss) also includes huge benefits such as:
- highly discounted tests such as live blood analysis, insulin resistance…
- highly discounted treatments such as lymphatic drainage massage for moving congestion…
- highly discounted kinesiology balances for emotional reasons for weight gain – stress, self-sabotage etc
Book in to talk to our naturopaths Jacqueline Dekoke or Madonna Guy today about our fat loss programme.
Madonna Guy ND, Naturopath, Wynnum, Brisbane.

SIBO, Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth is a reasonably new discovery, or at least has finally been proven within the medical and naturopathic fields. For years naturopaths have worked on clearing ‘bad large intestinal bacteria’ with reasonable to good results, but when the intestinal growth is in the small intestine, instead of the large intestine, there are no tests which indicate where the infestation is, and results may not be as good. Detoxification of the intestines has always been hugely important for preventing disease and illness, naturopathically.
The problem is that symptoms of gut issues: bloating, burping, belching, wind, flatulence, diarrhoea, constipation (irritable bowel syndrome) can be either a small or large intestine issue.
For those of us who do kinesiology we are blessed with the ability to check where the overgrowth is (and it is often through the entire digestive tract) and what the infestation is made of: parasites, fungus, candida, bacteria, viral etc. Thank goodness for kinesiology…
And of course, SIBO is hugely indicated in many health issues: it has been found that 80-100% of chronic fatigue syndrome sufferers, as well as those with fibromyalgia suffer from SIBO – 80-100%. i’m sure SIBO will be indicated in reversing chronic disease in the future. It really gives a new perspective on treating the gut first – an old naturopathic adage…

Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia are 2 of the most frustrating ‘disease states’ these days. Medically, there is no ‘proof’ for either Chronic Fatigue or Fibromyalgia, so doctors or patients diagnose based on a lack of other diagnosis, and are often given advice like ‘take a holiday’, ‘take some anti-depressants’ or pain-killers which really don’t do a lot in these chronic health problems. Of course, anyone who takes these drugs know that they are poor substitutes for a healthy life…
In Europe, in 2009, it states in medical literature that there is no cure for chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia and that the only treatment is anti-depressant therapy! And yet, naturopathically at least, it has been found that both disease states have chronic magnesium deficiencies; small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO); the energy-creating mechanisms (Krebs Cycle; Citric Acid Cycle) aren’t working properly and neither are the detoxification processes in the body.
Naturopathically, these are the keys to our success! Detoxify, lots of magnesium and energy-creating nutrition, clear SIBO …

Kinesiology: the definition of kinesiology is a little tricky since there are so many forms, developed with different processes in mind. In general kinesiology is about muscle movement and muscle testing, therefore we use muscle testing to find out what’s going on inside the body. We use different ‘muscle testing’ techniques depending on who we are treating and what we are treating them for.
Kinesiology was developed originally in the 1950’s by renegade chiropractors in the U.S., who were sick to death of treating the same condition week in, week out. George Goodheart went to China and learned acupuncture philosophy, so acupressure and acupuncture meridians, points, and emotions are highly integrated within most kinesiology models.
Physios used ‘kinesiology’ techniques in the 1950’s as well to find out how damaged a persons muscles were after a bout of polio, or after the polio vaccines, so we add in the structural muscular knowledge from this side of medicine as well. Richard Utt, Gordon Dickson ND & Charles Krebs PhD all developed various kinesiology processes which have created the overall process now known as LEAP (Learning Enhancement Advanced Acupressure) system which helps people with learning problems, memory issues, behavioural problems such as ADHD, ADD, Aspergers, Autism and more.
Carl Ferrari D.C. combined chiropractic with Touch for Health and other modalities to develop N.O.T. (Neural Organisational Technique) which is fabulous in re-booting the nervous system from head to toe, supporting long-term issues such as whiplashes, jaw and hip problems, scoliosis and more. Both Linda Hoggard ND and Madonna Guy ND have been using N.O.T. since 1996 and have found it invaluable in treating long term health problems such as chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. Jacqueline Dekoke ND is the primary practitioner dealing with finding allergies, dealing with sensitivities and helping overcome long term immune system issues with the Endocrine and Immune Balancing processes.
All of our kinesiologists are also naturopaths so we utilise our knowledge within both spheres to ensure people get the most out of our treatments. The types of kinesiology that we do are very non-invasive: we may find a time-line that’s important to clear (ie, father unwell at 8 years old, creates a fear pattern in our brain around loss or lack of security for example) but we don’t delve on these old patterns very long, we simply store the information and move on, clearing the stressors as we find them.

We use a really cool system in our fat loss programme – a machine which lets us know EXACTLY what is going on with your body composition, each and every step of the way! Your body composition is the key to longer-lasting fat-loss! It’s simple, we want you to maintain OR ADD TO your muscle mass, and we want you to decrease fat mass and excess cellular fluid. Our practitioners: Madonna Guy ND, Jacqueline Dekoke ND and Linda Hoggard ND all have specific training in Bio-Impedance Analysis – which accurately measures your body composition. Our girls also know when things are going wrong on the road to good health – have you been stressed, sabotaging yourself, given up on exercise. Our weekly sessions keep you motivated and up and running so you get trim and stay trim long term.
The number on the scales is just a number. Imagine this scenario: I hopped on the scales on Saturday and only weighed 200g less than the week before (bummer) – when I did the Bio-Impedance Analysis, however, I found that my fat mass had reduced by 700g and my muscle mass had increased by 500g. So it was only a net loss of 200g. The brain only wants the number (of course) but people get that and so much more with us!
Our fat-loss programme is designed to prevent thyroid disease, hashimotos, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and much more. Come on in and give it a try!

Jacqueline Dekoke ND has been with our team for over 18 months now. New Leaf Natural Therapies snatched her away from the Advanced Allergy Clinic in the city where she had had great success in dealing with people’s debilitating sensitivities. As a kinesiologist and naturopath she uses her skills well, here at our clinic, and also has the ability to utilise many extra services here such as Live Blood Analysis, Cellular Analysis and Frequency Specific Microcurrent to name a few. She has so many skills, ‘naturopath’ just doesn’t do it justice.
Our cutting edge technology allows Jacq to get to the cause of health problems quickly and easily. Jacqueline finds that many people mention ‘exhaustion’, ‘tired’, ‘chronic fatigue’ within a few minutes of meeting her. She often uses Bowen Technique, Touch for Health, N.O.T. (Neural Organisational Technique) with clients as we find the stresses of life these days really throw people out of whack!
So if you feel you need some nutrition/dietary advice, would like to check out your live blood analysis, have kinesiology done for structural or emotional issues, need us to guide you into a direction of health rather than disease, pop on in and meet Jacq! She’ll take your health where you need to go…
Take care,
Madonna Guy ND Naturopath Wynnum
