New Year HCG Weight Loss … Get your body back now!!

My journey … 2014
1st journal!
So I’m my first week down on HCG this year! After my 2 month binge period (Holidays, Christmas, New Year, Birthdays, Get togethers – lots of excuses!!)  I was 69.5 kilos. A lot of this weight was put on with lots of naughtiness: lots of sugar, overeating, Xmas goodies, lollies, alcohol, cheesecakes, treats (many many of them!)… This weight is very ‘dense’ and hard to move, but it’s shifting!

I’m doing the RFM HCG Drops 10 drops 3 x daily; VLA Bio-impedance screenings daily; supplements for my liver, gut, energy levels and lots …of saunas!

I did HCG half heartedly last year after returning from long service leave (long lovely holiday!) but didn’t maintain the weight, didn’t do consolidation and didn’t follow the diet propertly…  Ah well, lost about 5 kilos!
My favourite supplements (for me) on HCG are:
  • Thermoburn – supports abdominal tummy fat – really tough to shift.  1 tab 2-4 x daily
  • Ultra Flora Immune or Probex – increase good gut flora – crucial for helping to shift the toxins from the gut
  • Lipogen or Livatone – both liver and gall bladder support.  I suspect I have gallstones so I’ll need to do my gall bladder flush during consolidation (there’s lots of olive oil as part of the process so you can’t do it during HCG)
  • Lipoic Acid or Glutathione – supports fat and water soluble toxin release
  • Resist X – energy production when we’re feeling sluggish
  • Resilian or Relaxan to help me de-stress and sleep well

The excess fat is 2-part on the Bio-impedance screening. It’s not only the ‘excess fat’ portion of the test, but it’s also the excess ATM, Active Tissue Mass, which is ‘tummy fat’ – very vascular and very hormonally dangerous. It’s the reason tummy fat is linked to heart disease, diabetes and cancer, not to mention adrenal exhaustion and thyroid issues.

Obviously the past 5 days my weight has been a challenge – purely on the scales, and yet the fat mass has continued to lower every day. I have more ‘fluid’ and ‘muscle’ in the body, but the fat mass is reducing.

This is why regular VLA Bio-impedance screenings are so crucial to keep us on track during HCG. Not daily of course, I can, so I do, and I love the numbers!

I’ll keep you posted…

16/1 Today 65.9 kilos
15/1 Yesterday 66.3 kilos 4.83 kilos excess fat

HCG: Diarrhoea on HCG

Saturday, November 24th, 2012
Diarrhoea on HCG:  not too common, but happens occasionally.
Why would HCG create diarrhoea??  Well, a couple of things that we’ve found:
1.  HCG may stimulte gall bladder function (because we’re releasing so much fat daily) – bile is a natural laxative;
2.  Releasing fungus and candida from the intestines (because we’re eating cleanly, we sometimes detox automatically) – fungus and candida love living in a sweet, acidic environment.  We’re also eating so many vegetables that for some lucky people they are working on detoxification processes with the natural ‘broom’ through the intestines…
3. Detoxification of heavy metals, drug residue, pesticides, stress toxins – fat tissue stores toxins.  Because we are releasing so much brown fat during HCG, we are releasing toxins of many types of nutrients and toxins into the bloodstream.  Depending on how nasty the toxins are we can feel dodgy (stressed, tired, nauseus, unwell, wired) and how much nutrition is stored (iron, B12, folate etc) we can feel amazingly energised on HCG.  Sometimes these toxins are so nasty our body will do anything in it’s power to release them from our bodies.  Diarrhoea is a small price to pay for this process!!
Things to do:
Liver and Gall Bladder Function:  Lipogen 1-2 tablets per meal
Diarrhoea Specific Gut Flora:  Ultra Flora SB Dysbiosis 2-6 daily depending on how bad the diarrhoea is
Bactrex, Costat and Parex:  Supports killing bacteria, parasites, candida and fungus.
Ultra Probioplex:  When we’re killing off bacteria, parasites, candida and fungus it creates inflammation.
Ultra Probioplex is one of the supplements that helps to ‘sop up’ the inflammation caused by killing these bugs!
Detoxification Processes:  Waiora NCD, Oxidant Protection, Meta B Complex, Silymarin…
Resetting your valves:  Kinesiology ‘ NOT ‘ technique (which we do at the clinic) is a process which  boosts digestive and liver function, resets your digestive valves, and finds reasons for the valves being dysfunctional…
Good luck!

Q. First Few Days on HCG: Madonna’s comments

Wednesday, November 14th, 2012
From an HCGer…
Hi, I am on day 5 (including 2 loading days) and have lost 2kgs, however today I have a bad headache and am really hungry. I have just taken some panadol but am struggling today. My loading days I ate HEAPS but was thinking the whole time I wasn’t hungry and wasn’t craving anything. Now of course every time I turn on the TV there is a food as and I want it!!
Madonna’s Comments:
1. Headaches are due to detoxification… the body is releasing toxins from the fat tissue, and our body is struggling dealing with it. Drink heaps and heaps of purified water.  In our clinic we have infrared saunas (an hour is recommended on HCG), kinesiology protocols that support detoxification, raindrop technique (essential oil technique), and energetic healings, all of which support the body’s lymphatic system and major organs to eliminate toxins faster.  Lipoic Acid (4 daily available at New Leaf) is both a fat soluble and water soluble anti-oxidant – in other words it sops up toxins from both the blood and the fat tissue.  It’s fantastic for HCG.  It also helps with blood sugar balancing which can be a major cause of headaches on HCG.
2. Hunger: homeopathic drops take different amounts of time for different people to kick in. It’s only day 3 on the VLCD, some people take up to day 5 before homeopathic drops kick in. Make sure the drops are away from eating, drinking, coffee, cleaning teeth, and keep away from electrical appliances.  We use products such as Resist X to settle down the hunger – drink heaps of filtered water, gymnema settles hunger and sugar cravings, chromium helps to create energy within the cells – there’s lots we can do for hunger!
3. Panadol: do the best you can, but obviously your adding another toxin to the body which will have to be dealt with.  Hopefully it will only be the first few days for these headaches – let’s us know whats stored in our fat tissue doesn’t it??
4. Have a treatment with Norm or Kat and start balancing the hormones – getting them to kick the hypothalamus into action might be a possibility from the kinesiology perspective as well. Kinesiology can re-connect the hypothalamus with many parts of the body so that it speeds up the process of supporting HCG to kick in as quickly as possible.
5. Resist X: 2 tabs 3-4 x daily – if you need it, it increases cellular energy, gets the sugar activated properly within the cells (supports insulin resistance) – great for hunger on HCG.  One of my favourite supplements for clients on HCG.
6. Kinesiology for food sabotage… can also be used to help your brain and body settle down into the hcg process..  HCG is a process that helps to re-frame our food tendencies, and helps us deal with sabotages, bad eating habits, munchies…things that we may not even be aware that we’re doing!  Kinesiology, energetic healings, reiki, raindrop technique all help to settle our nervous system down.
7. Raindrop Technique: essential oil technique performed by Rachel that kicks the nervous system into action.  Gives energy.  Settles the adrenals and cortisol levels so that hunger may be normalised.  Good luck!!!  Total bliss, either an hour of Raindrops Technique or 1.5 hours of Raindrop/Reiki combination.

HCG Fat Loss Program – Frequently Asked Questions

Tuesday, November 13th, 2012

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)

1. What are HCG homeopathic drops, and how do they work?

The HCG homeopathic drops are known to suppress hunger and when used in conjunction with a 500 calorie plan your body starts to use its fat as its energy source without losing muscle.  We have proved this clinically with bio-impedance analysis throughout the programme.

2. Is HCG safe?

HCG is extremely safe, there are no current side effects of the homeopathic drops.

3. If HCG works so well for weight loss, why don’t pregnant women lose weight?

Because HCG mobilizes fat to be used in other parts of the body where needed during pregnancy. When a woman is pregnant they often sustain a high calorie diet in most cases. HCG only works for weight loss in conjunction with the 500 calorie regime.

4. Will my metabolism slow down if I’m on a very low calorie regime?

When calories are cut back significantly the body will store the fat and then the metabolism will lower. As a result the fat is then used as energy. It is quite a natural process and has no negative effect to the body.

5. Wouldn’t I lose the same amount of weight eating a very low calorie regime without HCG?

Typically yes you would, however the HCG drops support the strength of muscle tissue while your body intakes 500 calories per day. In normal circumstances (without HCG) the muscle would go first, then the fat would follow. The homeopathic drops help to produce hormones to sustain muscle and use the fat as energy instead. A low calorie regime without homeopathic drops would result in making it easier to gain the weight back rather than sustaining it.

6. The HCG regime is very low calorie, will I get hungry?

Surprisingly no, this is one of the few regimes that don’t leave you craving more food. The reason is because your calories are normally the source of your energy and when they are all used up you felt hungry. When you are taking HCG your body can turn to the fat as a source of energy and therfore suppresses your appetite.

7. Will HCG interfere with any medications I am currently taking? What about birth control pills or Depo-Provera injections?

HCG does not interfere with any medications whatsoever, including birth control, or any prescription drugs.  We have had clients with many combinations of medical drugs go through the process successfully.

8. Will I experience any changes in my menstrual cycle taking HCG?

The dosage is too small to change anything in the menstrual cycle, again, there are no side effects.  Because it balances hormones, we often recommend NOT Neural Organisational Technique Endocrine Balancing after the HCG process.

9. How much weight can I expect to lose on the program?

The average comes to about 0.1-0.5kg (1lb) per day over an extended period of time. Some may lose up to 1kg (2 lbs) a day in their first week.

10. Does the weight loss slow down after the first month?

Yes, the largest amount of weight is lost in the first month. After the first 3-4 weeks some may experience a plateau effect where a day or two on the scales your weight doesn’t change. DO NOT PANIC this is normal, the body is currently losing inches and the spikes in the losses will start going down again.

Q:  Can I complete the programme if I am a vegetarian or vegan?  A Yes.

Q:  Can I complete the programme if I am lactose intolerant?  A:  Yes.

Q:  How much salt would you recommend using?

A: There is no restriction on the use of salt. On the other hand, an increase in salt can be one of the most common causes for inconsistencies in weight loss, due to water retention.

Q: The diet states that tap water is not preferred. Why?

A: Tap water contains chlorine, which affects the thyroid.

Q: Why do I “gorge” for the first 2 days of the protocol?

A: It takes 2 -3 days for diet drops to completely enter your system; gorging also helps with hunger feelings while on the program, as well as building up structural and normal fat, as opposed to brown fat.

Q: What are the best foods on which to gorge?

A: High fat calorie foods such as full fat dairy products, nuts, oils, avocados, etc.

Q: I’m not sure how many vegetables I should be eating during Phase 2.

A: You can eat as many vegetables as you want during Phase 2 as long as it remains within the 500 caloric limit. Here is a suggestion on how to measure this: Weigh out the 100 grams of protein (approximately 100 calories), then add your vegetables, apple (55-110 calories), melba toast/grissini (20 calories) for the meal. Weigh out the vegetables and use a calorie counter to make sure you don’t go over the 500 calorie limit. The size of the portions will vary with each type of vegetable, so use a calorie counter and a scale and you should do fine. An average serving size of spinach only contains 7 calories, for instance, while a 4-inch long strip of celery contains about 1 calorie. Here is a calorie counter that may be helpful for you .

Q: Are frozen veggies okay instead of fresh?

A: Fresh organic vegetables are preferred, but frozen vegetables will work.

Q: May I eat pickles with any meal on the diet?

A: Cucumbers and vinegar are on the protocol so pickles are permitted. If you find that you are not losing weight, stop eating the pickles.

Q: What can I eat while I’m completing the program?

A: The complete diet is covered in the manual available from New Leaf Natural Therapies.

Q: Won’t I starve if I only consume 500 calories per day?

A: No. Because our drops releases your fat reserves, your body begins to “consume” the fat, which acts as a source of energy in place of food. In essence, you burn up to one pound of fat each day (one pound is 3,500 calories). Therefore, your total consumption each day will be about 4,000 calories – 500 from food and 3,500 from fat. That is why most patients do not experience extreme hunger while using our drops.

Q: I am still hungry, what can I do?

A: First of all, did you do the loading days properly. Eating as many high fat foods as you could for 2 days is the best preparation for managing possible hunger. If you are genuinely hungry and it is not part of a compulsive eating pattern suggestions include:

ü  Ensure adequate hydration, hunger is often a misinterpretation of thirst. Drink 8 glasses of water and additional Yerbe Mate tea, etc per day.

ü  Add fibre such as psyllium hulls. 1 – 2 tablespoons in 8 oz of water 6-8 x per day. These are also available in tablet form but if you don’t like psyllium, take a natural and gentle fibre alternative.  Slippery Elm capsules (available from New Leaf) can also help.

ü  Use Resist X (Metagenics product available at New Leaf):  This helps to curb hunger, increase energy and speeds up fat metabolism.  Contains Korean ginseng, chromium and other nutrients.

ü  Vitamin D capsules/drops (from New Leaf) will help curb hunger at 2-5000iu daily.

ü  Follow the soup recipes on the disc and spread your meals throughout the day.

ü  Basically consider spreading your meals throughout the day.  Basically consider the food programme as having a set number of pieces on a chess board.  You can move a piece any way your want, as long as you don’t add new pieces to the board or eat more than one of any type at one time.

ü  Use miracle noodles available at New Leaf.  Permitted on Phase 2 and Phase 3.

Q: I’m experiencing food cravings.

A: If you have been on a high sugar, alcohol or gluten diet for some time, it is possible that you will experience food cravings during the program but these usually pass within a few days. Rest assured that once you finish the program, you will be amazed at how little you want these types of foods any more.

Q: I’m hungry!

A: You shouldn’t be experiencing hunger pains on this program if you are following it properly so this is something that should be easily fixed. Firstly, did you load up properly on the force feed days? If you did not then the hunger will gradually diminish, but the situation reinforces the need to use the first two days as stated by Dr Simeons and prepare properly for the shifts in your body’s metabolism. We next need to ensure that you are taking the correct amount of drops (10 drops x 3 times per day) then ensure that you are eating enough vegetables. 9 times out of 10 when people experience hunger pains, it is because they are not eating enough vegetables. Generously increase your listed vegetable intake for lunch and dinner and see how this affects your hunger pains. Have a read of the section on vegetables in Part 2 of this manual for further information. You may also wish to try drinking Green Tea, taking psyllium husks in water (4-6 glasses a day) or adding chromium and/or Vitamin D3 supplements to your diet. Miracle Noodles can also be a great and delicious way to get your fibre without calories during the program.

Q: Will I lose exactly one pound every day while on the program?

A: No. Most clients on the 23-day program will have lost about 6-10 kilos (there are 2.2 pounds in a kilogram); however, the weight loss does not always happen evenly over 23-day period. Some patients may notice a plateau or a span of a few days where little to no weight loss occurs. Some patients often notice quick weight loss after a plateau period.

Q: If I live afar, how do I participate in the program?

A: Distant clients will need to complete get the manual and drops via mail, and we offer telephone consultations.

Q: Can I complete the protocol if I am nursing a baby?

A: No, when you are nursing you produce prolactin, which interferes with our drops.

Q: How should I store my diet drops?

A: Homoeopathic remedies don’t need to be stored in the refrigerator but you will need to keep them away from electronic devices such as microwaves, mobile phones and computers. You should also keep them out of direct sunlight and below 30° Celsius.

Q: What makeup can I use during the protocol?

A: You can use Makeup that does not include fats, oils, creams and ointments.  Lipstick is allowed.

Q: Can I use mineral oils?

A: Yes, you can use mineral oils externally as a moisturizer if you must. However, because there is little nutritional value, do not use mineral oil to cook.

Q: What lip products can I use? A: Lipstick is permitted.

Q: Can I use a Chap Stick?

A: Only if it is a wax product and it doesn’t penetrate the skin. You will need to be selective with the brand and watchful of your results.

Q: What deodorant can I use?

A: You can use Crystal deodorant, which can be found at health food stores.

Q: What lotion and makeup can I use?  A: Oil free lotions. See list at the bottom.

Q: Are shampoos, conditioners, and styling products okay?

A: Yes, as long as they are rinsed out immediately.

Q: Can I colour my hair while I’m completing the program?  A: No.

Q: My weight loss appears to have slowed down or stopped. What do I do?

A: Don’t panic! If your weight loss has slowed down or stopped, this usually means you have hit a plateau. This is more common in women than men and is a totally normal part of the program. You will most likely find that your weight will remain unchanged for a few days and then the weight loss will resume. It would be a good idea to read the relevant section in “Pounds and Inches ” or in the section in this manual under Key Points from Pounds and Inches which will help explain what is happening to your body during this time.  Read about an ‘apple day’.

Q: I’ve cheated and my weight loss appears to have stalled. What do I do?

A: Cheating always has a price on this program! Depending on how much you cheated, it may take several days for your weight loss to return. Stick with the diet drops and 500 calories until your weight loss returns to normal levels. Note that doing strenuous exercise to offset the cheating is actually counterproductive on this program. It won’t help you lose additional weight but will put stress on your body.

Q: I’m in Phase 3 and I have gained more than 2 pounds from my finishing weight.

A: First and foremost you need to read the section about Skipping a Meal in “Pounds and Inches” which requires you to do a Steak Day or a high protein day on the day your recorded the weight gain. However, if this pattern keeps repeating and you are not deviating from the Phase 3 eating plan, then it is possible that you are having a reaction to some of the foods you are reintroducing into your diet. If you have a dairy or nut intolerance this can cause inflammation and seeming weight gain where in fact it is actually water retention. You would need to go back and check some of the foods you have been eating and remove them to try and ascertain the culprit and then eliminate the problem.

Q: I don’t like skipping breakfast. Can I switch one of my meals to breakfast and skip a meal later in the day?

A: While it is preferable to follow the protocol as prescribed by Dr Simeons, if you would prefer to eat breakfast and skip lunch or dinner then this is okay. As long as you don’t increase your overall caloric intake above 500 calories you will still lose weight.

Q: Do I need to eat organic food during the program?

A: While it is highly recommended to eat organic food during the program we accept that organic foods can be difficult to find and often expensive. If you are able to find organic products then this will certainly support the success of the program but it is not a critical component.

Q: Is it okay to exercise during the program?

A: It is acceptable to do mild exercise during Phase 2 such as walking or swimming, and slightly more strenuous exercise during Phase 3. Of course you should track how this may affect your energy levels and subsequent weight loss. Note that doing strenuous exercise, especially during phase 2, adds stress to the body and can be counterproductive on this program. It won’t help you lose weight and may in fact stall it so best to keep to mild exercise until the program is complete.

Q: What happens if I get my period during the drops phase?

A: You should stop the drops during your menstruation but continue with the 500 calorie Very Low Carb Diet until your period finishes. You should then start up on the drops at the end of your period and add the amount of days you stopped the drops onto the end of your program. For instance, if you get your period on day 12 and it lasts for 5 days, you should stop the drops for days 12 to 17 and add an additional 5 days on after day 23 of the program to 28 days.

Q: When is the best time to start the program?

A: For women, the best time to start is on the first day that your period finishes. This means that you will most likely avoid having to stop the drops during the program.

Q: I want to do another course of the program. How long do I have to wait to start?

A: If you have completed the full 6 week or 12 week program including the relevant maintenance phases, then you can start another course of our drops straight away.

Q: Can I drink alcohol on this program?

A: Alcohol is strictly forbidden during Phase 2 of the program. Dr Simeons suggests that a small glass of red wine during Phase 3 is acceptable but you need to remember that wine contains sugar so you will need to closely monitor your weight changes the following day and do a steak day if necessary.

Q: I’m at day 23 of Phase 2 and am doing so well that I want to do the 40 day program. Can I do this?

A: Yes this is very common. If you wish to continue your program to 40 days you should maintain the VLCD and drops for a further 17 days then follow the steps outline in Part 2 of this manual.

Q: Can I do more than 23 days but less than 40 days on Phase 2?

A: Yes you can. You just need to ensure that you spend the equivalent amount of time on Phase 3 ” Maintenance Phase. For instance, if you do the HCG Phase 2 for 30 days, you will need to do Phase 3 Maintenance for 30 days.

Q: Will the lotions and diaper creams I put on my children have an effect on me, even if I wash my hands immediately after applying?

A: The lotions and creams can have a small effect. We recommend you wear gloves to prevent penetration of any lotions or creams.

Q: Can I go tanning while I am on the program?  A: Yes, but do not use tanning lotion or oil.

Q: Can I still complete the program if I’ve had a hysterectomy?  A: Yes.

Q: How does a diabetic benefit from the program?

A: When a diabetic follows the protocol our diet drops naturally stabilises the blood sugar. We often see an overall drop in fasting blood sugar after completing the program.

Q: Can I still take my medications while on program?

A: Yes, as long as the medications do not interfere with the endocrine system. This needs to be reviewed on a case-by- case basis. Any cessation of medications will need to be discussed with your doctor prior to beginning the program.

Q: Should I stop my pharmaceutical medications while I am on the program?

A: You should never stop your medications unless advised by your Doctor. If you have specific concerns about certain medications when used in conjunction with our diet drops, you should contact us directly.

Q: Should I stop taking my vitamin supplements while taking the diet drops?

A: You should try and not take your normal vitamins while doing Phase 2 of the program. You will find that through the fat loss, your body will be recycling vitamins and minerals previously stored in your fat for re- use. In some cases, vitamins may interfere with weight loss especially if they contain hidden sugars. You can resume your vitamin intake during Phase 3 of the program. The one exception to this rule is digestive enzymes and probiotics which will assist your digestion during the program and are recommended. Refer to the section in “Pounds and Inches” for further details or in Part 3 of this manual.

Q: How does the program affect cholesterol levels?

A: We have seen cholesterol levels fluctuate while on the program. For the majority of patients the cholesterol levels drop and improve.

Q: Can I continue using my hormone medications?

A: All medications that interfere with the endocrine system should be avoided during the program. This can be discussed during a consultation with one of our Naturopathic professionals.

Q: Will I be able to stop using my anti-diabetes medications after I complete the program?

A: While discontinuance of diabetes medication is possible, it should not be expected as a result of the protocol. Often it depends on how long you’ve been diabetic, how many medications you are currently using, your fasting blood sugar levels, your blood sugar range, etc.

Q: Will the program help my high blood pressure?

A: Many patients have experienced a decrease in blood pressure. Some patients have been able to stop taking their medications, but this should not be done without medical advice.

Q: Can I continue using my anti-depressant medications? A: Yes.

Q: Can I continue using my anxiety medications? A: Yes

Q: Why does the program interfere with Gout?

A: The diet drops increases uric acid levels which may aggravate the condition. Support is available to minimise this potential

Q: If I don’t have a regular menstrual cycle will the diet drops affect that?

A: Some patients have experienced changes in their menstrual cycle while on the diet drops. These irregularities are resolved with the completion of the program.

Q: Should I run and exercise while completing the protocol?

A: We do not recommend strenuous exercise while completing the protocol. However, we do recommend walking and other light exercise.

Q: Why do I need to discontinue using thyroid while completing the program?

A: The hypothalamus gland, affected by our diet drops, also controls the thyroid. Taking additional thyroid could cause hyperthyroidism.

Q: When women are on their menstrual cycle, why can’t they receive the homoeopathic dosings?

A: Women who are menstruating produce a small amount of substance like our diet drops.

Q: Will I be hungry if I don’t take the homoeopathic dosing while on my period?

A: This varies; some women report they are hungrier when on their menstrual cycle and not dosing, and many report that they are unaffected.

Q: What should I do if I get constipated?  A: Increase your water intake, and fibre such as ground psyllium hulls. Quality herbal teas including liquorice tea may also assist.

Q: What are the negative side effects of the program?

A: Fortunately, very few negative side effects have been noticed or reported. The most frequent complaint we receive from patients is hunger, but that is usually due to poor preparation and loading in the first two days.

Q: If I am really hungry while on the diet drops can I use an appetite suppressant? A: No, a better idea is to graze on vegetables throughout the day. Choose vegetables that are approved on the protocol as “unlimited.”

Q: Is cold medicine okay?  A: Yes, as long as it does not contain sugar, starch or oils.

Q: My skin is really dry. What do you recommend?

A: This is quite a common event in the earlier stage of phase 2. If you find that your skin is dry, you may want to try applying organic coconut oil to your skin which should improve hydration during the program. However be very alert to any impact on the weight loss as there is always the risk of stalling. Coconut oil is appropriate and effective for some individuals but others end up in a fat loss plateau.

During the program, it is critical that you eliminate the intake of oils, which includes oils applied externally in the form of lotions, cleansers, and cosmetics. The following products are advertised as oil free, but question the label:

Moisturisers and cosmetics

Clinique:  – Moisture Surge; Extra Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel; Face moisturisers

– Aqua Fusion: Tinted and non-tinted moisturiser, with SPF and without.

– Pure Focus: toner, cleanser, scrub, moisturiser, T-zone gel.

– Absolute: Anti-aging, Wrinkle Defying Face Moisturiser. Pump only is oil free.

– Renergie: Anti-aging, Wrinkle Defying Face Moisturiser. Pump only is oil free.

Shiseido:  Pureness: Face Moisturiser.

– Tient: Innocence and Pro Lumiere: base/foundation/compact

– Purete: Line of facial cleansers and blemish control products

Estee Lauder:  Individualist: Double wear: Foundation (liquid and powder)

Kiehl’s:  Sodium PCA and Yerba Mate lotion. • Both are face moisturisers.

NeutrogenA:  Oil-free Moisture, Face Lotion

Body Lotions

Body and Earth

– Johnson’s Baby Lotion

– Aloe Vera gel has been found by some to be a good moisturiser

Lips There is no restriction on the use of lip products as long as they are oil free. Tip: Some people put Carmex on their knuckles to relieve dry cracked skin.

Hair Tip: Most shampoos and conditioners are okay if you rinse thoroughly after each use. Leaving in a conditioner is discouraged.

Deodorant Natural crystal deodorant sticks

Note – The following products / ingredients should be used with high caution:

lanolin, glycerin, petrolatum, petroleum jelly, mineral oil, beeswax. Many clients have used these products for the relief of symptoms of dry skin and chapped lips, without a negative effect on their weight loss. However, if you notice a slowing or drop off in your weight loss while using any of the above products, we recommend discontinuing use.

Those who need to lose more weight must have a second or even more courses. A second course can be started after an interval of not less than six weeks, though the pause can be more than six weeks. When a third, fourth or even fifth course is necessary, the interval between courses should be made progressively longer. Between a second and third course eight weeks should elapse, between a third and fourth course twelve weeks, between a fourth and fifth course twenty weeks and between a fifth and sixth course six months. In this way it is possible to bring about a weight reduction of 100 lbs and more if required without the least hardship to the patient.

Keys to Consolidation in HCG Weight Loss Process, Brisbane HCG Specialists

Saturday, November 10th, 2012
Keys to Maintenance/Phase 3 on HCG:
*Maintain your weight.  Never allow your body to go higher than 8-900g higher than your end-weight at the end of the HCG process.  (I prefer to use the 2nd day AFTER the HCG drops are out of my system)
* Think healthy.  Fresh.  Home cooked.  Fruits, vegetables, proteins.  Slowly add cream, eggs, cheese, nuts, extra fruits, vegetables, protein choices.
*  continue no sugar or starch until end of phase 3 – these throw blood sugar out and may stop your hypothalamus from re-setting. You’re so close – trust the process.  These are grains, breads, refined foods, potatoes, pumpkin, corn, sweet potatoes for some people.
* add in 1 food at a time so that you can weigh the next day and see if any weight has gone on. If so, has something created inflammation?
*  have a kinesiologist?  Use them (or our kinesiologists) to find out if the foods you are adding into your diet are great for you, or upset your body.
* drink plenty of water – continue the detoxification process…
* If weight goes up 8-900g more than end HCG drops weight, do a Steak Day to reset the metabolism. It works a treat, the weight drops and back you go. If you don’t reset on the day of the weight-gain, you may not be re-setting your hypothalamus, even though you are doing the process otherwise…
*  Steak Day:  drink as much fluid, herbal teas, mineral water throughout the day as you like, and at night time eat the biggest steak you’d like, along with an apple or a tomato… and watch the weight loss the next day!!
Good luck!!

Quenching cortisol and reducing inflammation – turning back another reason for weight gain…

Monday, October 29th, 2012

From an HCGer:      I like your statement on inflammation and cortisol switching off your thyroid. I did not know this. Besides HCG, what else can you use to reduce inflammation and turn on the thyroid again. I take Turmeric

Turmeric is a great anti-inflammatory – the types and usefulness depends on the grade, quality and dose taken.  Some aren’t great.  We love the type of turmeric in liquid herbs as well as products (stocked at New  Leaf) such as Inflavonoid Intensive Care.

Switching down cortisol and stress hormones, which create inflammation, can be achieved by a combination of several herbal combinations and nutritional formulas.  Herbs such as passionaflower and valerian, skullcap, Californian poppy, withania, Siberian ginseng, licorice, rehmannia, oats – are adaptogenic herbs – they tone the nerves and adrenals, quench cortisol, reduce inflammation caused through the nervous system.

B Complex supports adrenal production, Magnesium and Calcium both bind nervous system neurotoxins and calm it down.  We love products such as CalmX which settles cortisol and has huge doses of magnesium, calcium and B complex in it.  It’s great for people with panic attacks too…

Products such as Adrenotone quench cortisol, support adrenals and boost thyroid function, Neurocalm, Resilian (teariness, lack of emotional resiliance), Relaxan (PMT, hormonal imbalances, irritability and high stress levels), Stressan (poor sleep levels, anger, excess ‘chi’ in the body, can’t settle down), Adaptan (panic attacks, emotional exhaustion and anxiety), Proxan (depression, anger, crankiness and poor sleep) all settle cortisol levels.  Neurocalm calms the nervous system and improves sleep quality.

You can’t switch ‘on’ the thyroid without turning down the adrenals/cortisol switch.  It really need to be done simultaneously.  Iodine and tyrosine are both required to make thyroxine.  Bladderwrack is a herb high in iodine, all seaweed sources will have some iodine.  Products such as Metagenics Thyrobalance, Mediherb ThyroCo, Thorne Iodine & Tyrosine, Metagenics EnergyX and Adrenotone all support thyroid function.

Different products work in different ways and have effective treatments for different symptomatology.

Let us help you get your nervous system back on track!

HCG reduces inflammatory markers in Bio-Impedance Analysis…

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012
Inflammation decreases during HCG: I’ve had clients who have struggled with weight for years, and HCG turns them around brilliantly. Did you know that inflammation and weight gain go hand in hand?
* BMI over 30 means the fat tissue releases over 32 inflammatory hormones (that’s only 20% more than optimal weight)
* Inflammation switches off feel-good hormones which can be crucial in helping us maintain our enthusiasm for weight loss
* Inflammation switches on the adrenals, cortisol which switch off thyroid (which controls our metabolism)
* Stress does all of these things and more…
* Inflammation is also the key to developing cancer, heart disease and diabetes… a great reason to get your BMI’s back in the perfect range…

Good luck and keep the faith. HCG works!

AND New Leaf Natural Therapies Group and Page

We’ve had over 100 people do HCG RFM Diet this year alone (and we’re 2/3 the way through the year!)… so we’re finding the mistakes people make:

  1. Using contaminated spices:  lots have herbicides or pesticides or are irradiated.  Some are past their use-by date.  This can be toxic to your body and cause fluid retention, and therefore weight stalls.  If you don’t detox these toxins, then they will store somewhere else in your body.
  2. Using spices that contain oils or sugars – this will add calories and stop you from losing weight.
  3. Not drinking enough water.  This is crucial.  2.5 – 3 litres daily – from water, herbal teas and other water-based drinks daily.  Coffee doesn’t count.
  4. Drinking too much coffee.  Some people cope with lots of black coffee on HCG, others don’t.  Coffee may stop your body from creating energy that so many people love during HCG and make you retain fluid, and add a toxic load to your system, thereby slowing weightloss.
  5. Forgetting to take supplements.  We recommend several (depending on the individual):
**  Silymarin to support the liver (if you have a fat roll under the rib cage)
**  ResistX to support insulin and fat removal from the bloodstream (if you have a below-the-belly-button-layer of fat)
**  Multi-vitamin such as Femme Essentials or Meta B – definitely superior to most on the market
**  Cascara to support bowel movements
  6. Eating fatty meat or exposing your hands, face or body to creams, fats and oils.
  7. Not doing your two Feast Days properly when beginning the programme.  They are important.
  8. Mixing vegetables at a meal.  Simeons is clear about eating only a single vegetable at each meal.  the only exception is green leafy vegetables which can be combined.
  9. Putting other things in your mouth, like gum.  Even sugarless mints, gums etc interfere with the Protocol.  Don’t use them.
  10. Drinking diet drinks – including diet soft drinks.  They are toxic to your body and cause you to gain weight, due to this toxicity.  Dont’ use them.
  11. Eating meats, veggies, starches in the wrong combinations (ie 2 veggies at a meal, 2 fruits at a meal, more than 100g protein at a meal…)

Detox Support Naturally…

A common story about one of our clients…

Had a client who, using another weight-loss programme lost 33 kilos, incredibly close to her goal weight now. Fantastic right? Well, not so much. Exhausted. Bloated. Aching. Worn out. Allergies. Not sleeping. She had been so excited about getting back into exercise, which she hadn’t done for so many months.

We did a VLA / bioimpedance analysis and found signs of massive levels of toxicity, inflammation,…fluid retention, LOW LEVELS OF MUSCLE MASS, and poor quality muscle tissue. TOO MUCH FAT MASS… So this is called Sarcopenia. This is when we have too much fat, not enough muscle and the body acts as though it is obese.

Imagine 33 kilos of fat mass, releasing all of the toxins, acids, hormones – that had been dumped into the bloodstream and gut over those months…

Without nutritional support for detoxification and VLA’s to monitor the progress – she now has a condition likely to create more health problems.

What did we do for the client below who became toxic after weight loss (not using HCG – but there may be some gems in here for anyone on the weight loss journey)…

It was predominantly her ‘gut’ that was upset after her weight loss – no exercise in many many months, a very low calorie high protein, low carb diet (which loses muscle mass) – BUT she felt great throughout the programme – totally committed and it never occurred to her she would feel like crap once she finished and started re-introducing other foods back into her world. So we are:

1. Using G-Tox (Green formula which is heals leaky gut, alkalises the body, pulls heavy metals from the blood stream, cleanses the kidneys and boosts gut immunity)
2. We’re adding in digestive enzymes. Her gut has totally forgotten how to break down any foods – so we’ve added Digestaid which supports digestion of carbs, sugars, proteins, fruits…
3. We’re supporting liver support. When the gut is shut down, we simply reabsorb toxins back in through the liver. We added Silymarin (liver detoxifier) to start binding with these toxins and support removal from the body.

Other supplements I love for HCG, depending on a person’s individual health issues are:
** Estrofactors or Meta I3C – these are for those who have had oestrogen issues in the past – fibroids, cysts, PMT etc
** NCD Waiora Zeolite – A fully-cleansed form of zeolite which detoxifies the worst toxins from our bloodstream first
** Oxidant Protection – If we do a live blood screening and see toxicity issues – we use this as a fantastic anti-oxidant to remove anti-nutrients!
