Did you know that there’s a safe and easy way to have your child checked for allergic tendencies AND that there are things we can do to help live a healthier lifestyle? Allergies can cause so many health issues which scare the hell out of parents and caregivers: eczema and dermatitis, anaphylactic shock, swollen throats and lymphatic nodes, constant colds and flus… not to mention issues such as autism, aspergers, ADD, ADHD, asthma, which are on the rise, and very definitely linked to the messages we are sending our bodies via our foods…
No wonder we give our kids drugs to get the symptoms under control when our gut tells us it’s not doing them any favours.
There IS stuff we can do to help our kids allergies, intolerances and sensitivities:
- we use live blood analysis to find out many things including how useful the immune system is, how the liver is functioning, if the bloodstream is cleansing properly, nutritional levels of iron, b12, zinc and oxygen…
- we use kinesiology balancing techniques to pick up the body’s energy and help it heal, especially in relation to specific allergies and intolerances
- we use frequency specific microcurrent and infrared saunas to help pull toxins from the body so that it can function more effectively.
Talk to us today about the options for allergies for your children.

It’s amazing to me how many people ring me on 4BC to ask about foot spurs, heel spurs and plantar fasciitis… It seems to be a very important, painful, and debilitating issue for many people in Australia.
Firstly, we need good connective tissue support so that the foot can heal and repair properly. Nutrients that can be used are things like silica, magnesium, calcium… Products that support connective tissue support: Metagenics Arthrex; BioCeuticals Silica liquid; Metagenics Cartrin; Blackmores SCF; Metagenics Glucosamine Intensive Care.
Secondly, ensure weight is optimal… carrying excess weight puts huge amounts of pressure on the feet, and they will of course, be inflamed over time. Foot spurs, heel spurs and plantar fasciitis and natural side-effects of long term weight issues. See us about our fat loss programme which has a fantastic success rate and saves you money long term.
Thirdly, structural balancing can be very beneficial: in our clinic we do:
- remedial massage to increase blood supply to the extremities
- structural kinesiology to balance hips, knees, ankles, feet
- foot manipulation to ensure all the bones of the feet are in correct positions
- frequency specific microcurrent to help to break down calcification in the joints
So, there really is plenty of help for heel spurs, foot spurs and plantar fasciitis. Call us today to book your appointment!

Current Bonus: 30% off your initial massage with both Katherine & Nathan – mention this website!! Our beautiful natural therapies clinic in Wynnum, Brisbane, has a fantastic remedial massage team: the key practitioners being Ms Katherine Lynn & Mr Nathan Leach. Other therapists with additional skills in naturopathy, kinesiology, frequency specific microcurrent and testing procedures such as live blood analysis and cellular analysis include Madonna Guy ND, Jacqueline Dekoke ND & Linda Hoggard ND. We also have Reiki sessions available with Gabby Graham.
Remedial Massage is very different today than it was 30 years ago. Today is becoming more and more recognised as a way of repairing muscles and tendons: these can be damaged through many problems in daily life – the product of overuse, trauma or bad posture.
Remedial massage involves a number of applied techniques involving deep pressure, trigger points released and longitudinal strokes on shortened and tight muscles to allow proper function and restore muscle strength.
Remedial Massage Technique: It uses several specialised techniques to locate and repair damage and to support and speed up the body’s own repair mechanisms. The massage is applied directly to the skin using a lubricating medium, usually oil, which ensures that the muscles associated with the disorder and mobilisation of the joint are deeply penetrated. Passive stretching moves are also used.
Benefits of Remedial Massage
Key benefits of Remedial Massage include: the stimulation to the blood supply allowing toxins in the muscles to be removed; the calming of the peripheral nervous system to ease pain and discomfort; and the toning and relaxing of muscles to improve joint mobility. An improvement to the health of the cells, the repairing of tissues, and the easing of stiffness and tension can also be experienced through therapeutic relaxation.
Muscular and skeletal dysfunctions often addressed with Remedial Massage include Fibrositis, Spondylitis, Arthritis, frozen shoulder, muscular cramps, Whiplash, muscular atrophy, sports and dancing injuries.
Ring and ask about our specials – we often have great bonuses available for first time clients!

I found this article, which gives another excellent reason for keeping the waist measurement down as we get older!
“If you suffer from girth imbalance—also known as belly fat—you certainly are not alone. It is estimated that 50 percent of adult Americans carry unhealthy supplies of fat around their middle. Excess fat, particularly in the abdomen, can lead to a higher risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and premature death. Researchers have now concluded that that creeping middle age belly fat also predisposes us to the risk of developing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Dementia is an age-related disease that robs its victims of memory and cognitive functions; things like perception, reasoning, judgment, thinking, and speech. One in ten Americans over the age of 65 suffers from some form of dementia; 60 to 80 percent suffer its most common form, Alzheimer’s disease.
Researchers at Boston University School of Medicine studied 733 adults, with an average age of 60. The group was composed of 30 percent men and 70 percent women. Each individual went through body mass (BMI) measurements as well as scans to assess abdominal fat. The results, concurrent with other similar studies, showed that as the BMI increased, brain volume decreased.
“Our data suggests a stronger connection between central obesity . . . and risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease,’ said Sudha Seshadri, leader of the study published in the journal Annals of Neurology.
This means that for people reaching middle age, their 50s and 60s, there is a direct correlation between the increase in the waistline and decrease in brain size. Consequently the chances of some form of dementia hitting this particular group of people increases.”
Madonna’s thoughts: I went to a health congress in 2009 where obesity is linked to dementia and Alzheimer’s disease via inflammation: obesity makes us inflamed, and inflammation ‘eats away at the brain’. It’s time for us to get serious about our weight loss and keep it off. It’s a challenge, but it’s important.
Talk to us today about how we can help you with your weight loss challenges!!
We do
- testing to find out why weight loss is a problem
- explain dietary changes necessary for weight loss
- kinesiology to find out which foods are best for you
- frequency specific microcurrent to help reduce insulin resistance
- specific supplements to help what is necessary: liver detoxification, gut problems, thyroid sluggishness, insulin resistance, tiredness etc.
- and much more…

Feeling tired all the time? Exhausted? Burnt out? Did you know that it’s not just a symptom – it’s a sign that some crucial bodily functions aren’t working properly! Medical tests just don’t find anything MOST of the time, but if you’re sick of feeling zonked, then read on!!
How long since you woke up feeling energised?? Have you been feeling tired all the time? Exhausted from the moment you get up, unless you use stimulants – sugar, coffee & tea, cigarettes, stress… Needing these stimulants is a sign that your cells aren’t functioning properly. Medically, nothing can be done until a disease is present, but trust me, you DON’T want to wait until you’re a medical mess.
Here’s a 7 part process to more energy! Talk to us today and get your journey started!
- Have a cellular analysis (VLA) and find out how much energy your cells are giving you. Your Active Tissue Mass (muscle) is what feeds your energy cycle. With low quality muscle mass and low amounts of muscle mass, your cells ARE NOT GIVING YOU ENERGY! Work on improving your muscle mass!
- Have a look at your cells with Live Blood Analysis: there are 2 types of anaemia we see regularly – Iron deficiency and B12/folate deficiency. We regularly find both types of anaemia in Live Blood Analysis with Chronically Tired People.
- How acidic are you? We do urine tests which let us know if you are acidic – if your body has a ph (acidity) of 6.5 or lower (more acidic) than the body is working harder than it needs to: it has a harder time hydrating your cells, detoxifying your cells, removing inflammation, killing bacteria, viruses, helicobacter, parasites and more.
- Remove inflammation: With live blood analysis and cellular analysis we know how inflamed you are, this gives us a starting point. We use infrared saunas, natural supplements, massage therapies, frequency specific microcurrent, structural kinesiology to reduce inflammation.
- huge doses of fish oils that are heavy metal free. Now, this sounds easier than it is, since nearly every supplement claims to be free of toxins. However, did you know the government rules on toxicity are a joke? We only recommend Metagenics fish oils and 100% of their range is completely non-toxic, whereas most ranges are very dodgy. You then need a therapeutic dose of the fish oils to reduce inflammation and allow the cells to function a little better!
- Removing anesthetics: even dental work can impact on energy levels, having moles removed, veins stripped. Tiny amounts of anesthetics can attach to nerve membranes and stop them from being functional, hindering the nerve conduction in the body. We use B12 (at least 2000mg daily); infrared saunas and frequency specific microcurrent to pull anesthetics out of your body.
- Detoxify! Our Foundations of Health Programme is a 9 month programme which works through the body’s filters 1 by 1 and cleanses them. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is linked to all of the filters being clogged, hindering nerve and cellular conduction. We work through balancing the ph (acidity) as well as cleansing the gut (candida, parasites, helicobacter, fungus, leaky gut, allergens); the liver; the immune system and the kidneys.
So don’t despair, if you’re feeling really tired, you need to start at the beginning and treat the symptoms initially, and then cleanse, cleanse, cleanse! Slowly but surely, you’ll get better and better. Start your journey today – call Gabby or Helen on 3348 6098!

Blood sugar imbalances create so many problems for people today: but it is possible not only to prevent diabetes, but also in beginning the process of reversing diabetes. We see so many people who have the beginning symptoms of sugar cravings or dizziness when it’s been a few hours since they’ve eaten.
What are the symptoms of blood sugar imbalances?
- needing to eat regularly
- dizziness if you haven’t eaten in a few hours
- hungry within an hour of eating
- sluggish liver – inability to lose weight, poor energy
- (or hungry all the time)
- mood disorders
- hormonal imbalances such as PMT & PCOS
- headaches and migraines
- chocolate cravings
There are 5 keys to preventing diabetes:
- eat a protein snack every 3-4 hours: meats, nuts, cottage cheese, cheese, tofu
- eat fish for your dinner 3 x weekly along with salmon/sardines for lunch 3-4 x per week.
- maintain a healthy weight and/or work towards a more balanced BMI (body mass index)
- use products which balance your blood sugar: for example, we utilise products such as Metagenics Insulex, Resist X, Fibroplex, Meta Oil
- exercise regularly: 30 minutes daily (minimum) has been shown to balance blood sugar and help our cells to function - usually blood sugar balancing is also about having insulin resistance, therefore the cells simply can’t take in insulin into the cells, and energy creation can’t happen effectively inside the cells.
Our solutions for blood sugar balancing:
- We have a weight loss programme (and a payment plan to save you money) to start the process of fat loss.
- We have a chronic pain programme (if pain is the reason exercise is difficult) which helps to reverse chronic pain conditions.
- We have a hormonal balancing programme (and a payment plan to save you money) to balance all of the hormones in your body. Hormones are everything! Nothing happens in your body without a hormonal component. Nothing!
- We use frequency specific microcurrent and infrared saunas to detoxify the cell membranes to detoxify insulin and allow the insulin to be utilised the way that it should.
So there are many ways we can help you, here at New Leaf Natural Therapies for your hormonal imbalances. See us today!

Have you been worried about your arthritis or the drugs you need to take to reduce your pain? We can help, right here in our beautiful professional clinic in Wynnum, Brisbane! With our Chronic Pain Programme you can use simple naturopathic treatments such as natural pain products and Frequency Specific Microcurrent to get you on your way!
Normal medical tests often miss out on some basic information that can really create an environment in your body where arthritis will just continue. Our naturopathic tests such as live blood analysis, our urine and blood tests and our cellular analysis (VLA) give loads of information that we can then work on with you to improve!
- how acidic are you??? We often see people 200 x more acidic then they should be, that means the minerals (calcium & magnesium) are being pulled from your bones, making them more brittle;
- how hydrated are you? The less hydrated the more acidic and inflamed your body is – see point 1!!
- where is your BMI? If your body mass index is over 30 (20% higher than perfect weight), the body is an inflammatory, stress creating, insulin resistant machine. That means that you’ll be more inflamed and acidic…
Are you seeing a pattern here? Therefore we work on, you guessed it, inflammation and acidity!!! Our frequency specific microcurrent machine helps to target specific areas of the body and reduces inflammation such as joints, tendons, bursa, joints, vertabra etc.
Talk to us today, and fix your arthritis! In our Chronic Pain Programme (payment plan) you also get other benefits such as:
- 1/2 price massage therapies with Katheine Lynn & Cherice Day (until we are fully booked)
- 1/2 price kinesiology sessions
- 1/2 price infrared saunas
- 1/2 price allergy testing and treatments with Jacqueline Dekoke and lots more!!!

Natural strategies for asthma have improved hugely over the last five years. Breathing is such a natural process that it’s hard to imagine the lungs conspiring to stop us…however, it now happens to many, many Australians each year!
2.2 million adults have asthma (1/10) and 1/6 children (the third highest rate of childhood asthma in the world!
Around 400 deaths per year are a result of asthma and around 60% of these are fully preventable – even moreso when the lungs and respiratory system are supported with natural therapies… it takes time, but it may save your life!
New Leaf Natural Therapies have strategies to help you improve your lungs and take control of your life!
- natural supplements strong enough to create an anti-inflammatory process within the lungs: thereby allowing us to reduce medication as appropriate
- supplements and frequency specific microcurrent help to repair the lungs and bronchial tissue which has been inflamed for so long
- reduce allergens and allergic tendencies: the number one reason for asthma attacks – we do treatments to improve allergic tendencies: these include supplements; kinesiology and frequency specific microcurrent. In our live blood analysis testing we usually find massive levels of eosinophils (allergy markers in the bloodstream) in asthmatics. We consistenly find these improve over time with this combination of treatments.
- repair the gut! We find that just about 100% of our clients with asthma have ‘leaky gut syndrome’ in our Live Blood Analysis. The tissue in the gut (endothelial tissue) is identical to that of the lungs and inflammation tends to happen simultaneously in both areas with affected asthmatics. So ‘leaky lung syndrome’ and ‘leaky gut syndrome‘ go hand in hand!
- Many chronic coughs are a result of either subclinical asthmatic tendencies or allergies. It is important to get to the bottom of it as these coughs can last for years!
- Asthmatics tend to have low oxygen levels due to inefficient lungs: increasing substances like co-enzyme Q10 and oxygen supplements help the body to re-oxygenate.

Today Alex and I discussed chronic pain with a few callers.. A few thoughts on pain:
1 in 5 Australians have chronic pain at some stage in their lives, so pain management is a huge challenge for many health professionals. Pain can come from so many sources, and is often linked to emotional pain and traumas in our lives: deaths of a loved one, an operation, a nasty viral infection, financial difficulties. Neck and shoulder pain, for example, is notoriously worse when someone is stressed. Eventually this can lead to chronic pain for which medical science has no answers for other than stronger and stronger drug therapies.
Natural pain management works to reduce irritation to the nerves; regenerate the areas which are degenerating and re-mineralise the body. This combination helps to reduce acidity, reduce pain and increase longevity. Drug pain management suppresses the symptoms allowing nerve damage, acidity and degeneration to continue.
New Leaf Natural Therapies has many treatments for pain management: naturopathic supplements; frequency specific microcurrent; remedial massage; infrared saunas; structural kinesiology and acupuncture. It’s time to get to the cause of health problems, not just suppress them!
