You can have Pain Relief without drugs at New Leaf Natural Therapies. Our lovely clinic in Wynnum provides a range of services: if you live elsewhere here are some ideas for you to look for when finding a clinic to take care of your pain – you too, can have pain relief without drugs, pain relief without medication!
Find the reasons for your pain and FIX THEM! What? There are reasons for my pain? Find a clinic that can do some scientific testing/treatments in order to achieve the following outcomes…
- How acidic are you? Knowing this number (both saliva and urinary) and working towards the optimal ph (7.2-7.35) will halt the destruction of joints, bones and organs. Acidity creates an environment where just about every health problem can be created. Jacqueline Dekoke ND recently had a client with massive health issues and got his acidity from 5.5 to 7.4 within 4 weeks. Then the healing can begin!
- How much excess fluid is your body holding? Our VLA or Bio-impedance analysis machine let’s us know EXACTLY how much fluid is inside the cells and how much fluid is on the outside. This also let’s us know how much excess fluid your body is holding. WHY? Because the body is clever, and it’s trying to dilute toxins, acidity and inflammation. We find that this process takes some time: we have trillions of cells in our body and to detoxify each one, takes a lot of time!
- Massage therapies: Find yourself a fabulous massage therapist, like Ms Katherine Lynn or Ms Cherice Day, someone who can put together a treatment plan for you. If your massage therapist has a plan – then work with them and trust them. If it doesn’t feel like they’re helping you with your pain relief, then find someone else. For example, with Alison’s combination of reflexology, remedial massage, shiatsu, lymphatic drainage and acupuncture, she’s a perfect choice – find a passionate massage therapist who’ll get your pain issues under control.
- How inflamed are you? We use several testing processes to find out how inflamed you are: Live Blood Analysis (signs such as fibrin, rouleaux, blood stickiness, protoplasts, red crystals…); bio-impedance analysis (let’s us know how leaky and stressed your cells are). Once you know how inflamed your body is you can use natural anti-inflammatories with NO SIDE EFFECTS such as kinex AI, kaprex and inflavonoid intensive care. We also use Frequency Specific Microcurrent for reducing inflammation and regeneration of joints, ligaments and tendons.
It’s time to find your own natural therapies clinic that can do that for you!

It’s so easy for people to create a lot of health problems over the Christmas Silly Season. Yes, there’ll be parties, fun & frolicking and so there should be! But we need to take a step back and decide how much damage we’re going to do to our bodies. We can easily create such a huge amount of inflammation that our bodies take months to recover. Make a conscious decision to have fun, but NOT to damage your body too much after Christmas…
1. Drink heaps and heaps of filtered water. It will keep you hydrated, support your liver and kidney function, help you eat and drink less!
2. Mix your drinks with soda water: spirits, wines, champagnes…that way you can feel like you’re drinking with your mates, but doing yourself, your liver and kidneys less damage in the long run…
3. Use carrots, snow peas & celery sticks to eat your dips. You’ll be getting plenty of anti-oxidants and fibre, moving everything through your intestines faster. If you’re on the keto-diet you can even use small slices of ham, turkey slices or veggie slices to pick up the dip with…completely keto if you choose good dips.
4. Try to exercise daily. 20-30 minutes every single day throughout the silly season to keep your metabolism up. Everyone can fit this in regardless of how busy, how tired, how full they are!
Mostly have fun. It’s proven that we maintain weight more easily when we’re happy and not stressed. Stress hormones force us to release fat-storing hormones… Happiness helps us digest better and release fat-burning hormones.
Have a great Christmas

Key highlights of November’s Pain Seminar at New Leaf Natural Therapies were interesting… Attendees were from different walks of life, with varying levels of pain and inflammatory conditions: gut pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, exhaustion, rheumatoid arthritis, menstrual pain, insomnia, depression…
When you put it all together pain, regardless of the type, comes from the same causes which were discussed:
- chronic nutritional deficiences such as magnesium, calcium, potassium and B vitamins
- inflammation
- acidity
- toxicity
- structural imbalances and
- stress… leading to the fight and flight response
Our tests can measure these problems and then our naturopathic processes can start to reverse these problems in the body.

Time to get your weight issues under control! See special offer for new clients below…
We have spent several years developing this ‘Fat-Loss Bundle’ of tests which gives our naturopaths a massive amount of information: often surpassing the information they’ve ever been given from their doctors and specialists within 30 minutes.
Have you been frustrated by going to the doctors: your thyroid’s ok, liver tests normal, cholesterol ok, BP fine and you’re sent away, yet again, with the message of ‘eat less, exercise more’. It’s a frustration we hear every single day in the clinic.
Our group of tests let us know how insulin resistant you are (huge reason for inability to lose weight); how your fat/muscle ratio is (the more out of balance this is, the slower your metabolism is…); how acidic you are (the more acidic the harder it is to lose weight); blood pressure and blood oxygen; cellular energy, not to mention these group of tests give us risk factors for diabetes, cancer, heart disease and stroke.
Both Jacqueline Dekoke ND and Madonna Guy ND have years of experience is working with these health issues and getting them under control, so that weight loss becomes a much easier process.
Special Offer: so you’ve found your way to our website through New Leaf Natural Therapies Facebook page or ad? 4BC radio ads or Madonna’s session; internet… For new clients who mention this special offer when they call we are offering a huge discount until 31st December, 2009. It’s ridiculously low, but we’re so keen to help you on your weight-loss journey, we’re happy to do so.
- Normally this group of tests is $173 and
- an initial consultation with Jacqueline is $77 or with Madonna is $105;
- Total up to $278.
- For you, it will be 50% off until 31st December; maximum of $139…
- Book now and mention this bonus!

There have been new government regulations enforced this year in relation to allergy testing and treatments and is targeting natural therapy clinics.
There have been several natural health clinics targeted for doing allergy testing and treatments in Brisbane this year due to new government regulations. The government position is that ‘There is no treatment for allergies’, therefore anyone claiming that they treat allergies will be targeted. These clinics have been asked to write to each and every one of their past clients stating that allergies cannot be treated. So, can allergies be treated??
What Can New Leaf Natural Therapies do to help Allergies, sensitivities and intolerances?
We start with an initial live blood analysis to get an idea about how allergic your body is. The eosinophils (white blood cells) are the allergy-markers, and the higher the percentage of the eosinophills, the more allergic your body is. We can also see ‘how active’ your immune system is – since the blood is live, we see ‘movement’ of the white blood cells within 10 minutes or so, so we will know whether or not your immune system is functional, or whether it needs support. The less functional immunity, the less likely your body can deal with other things like bacteria, parasites, viruses, viral particles AND dealing with cancer cells.
As eosinophils are only in the blood for 3 hours (once released they travel through the blood to the area where the allergic reaction is taking place), if people suspect an allergy, for example wheat or dairy, we often ask them to eat some before their visit to see how raised the levels are. If the eosinophil level is normal, we know that it’s not an allergy to those foods.
We use a combination of natural supplements which help to boost natural immunity and reduce the number of eosinophils. There are 3 key types of cells involved in this process – Th1 cells are suppressed, Th2 cells (allergic process) are raised and Th3 cells are dysfunctional. This is the key to good health and wellbeing, and an immune system which is working beautifully.
Jacqueline Dekoke ND, Linda Hoggard ND and Madonna Guy ND all have many years of experience in dealing with the underlying causes of allergies, balancing the immune system and cleansing the body of toxins which may upset the balance of the immune system.

Are there any side-effects of natural therapies? Having been in the industry for 20 years I have a lot of thoughts on this. People respond in different ways to different therapies.
Imagine an elderly person, on many medications, who has her first massage in years: a gentle relaxation massage. Imagine some of the muscle starting to release toxins – inflammatory hormones being released into the bloodstream, coupled with a lack of hydration since medications dehydrate the system so much! Link that to a huge magnesium deficiency created by a lifetime of poor diet, excess tea and coffee and depletion via the medication and you end up with pain after a massage… a side-effect???
There needs to be support for natural therapies for pensioners! The only healthcare the elderly can often afford is medical drugs with it’s huge government assistance. It’s devastating for us to speak to people every single day who cannot afford our services and yet they get unhealthier and unhealthier following a ‘medical lifestyle’! This needs to be changed!

We work with many weight loss challenges in our clinic, and insulin resistance is huge! We have a machine that tells us on the spot how ‘insulin resistant’ someone is. This is a pre-diabetic condition which medically doesn’t get picked up due to the fact that it’s NOT diabetes. Medically (and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with this) they are always waiting for tests to be bad enough to 1. put us on medication; 2. send us to a specialist or 3. operate.
I tell my clients all the time ‘thank goodness they didn’t find anything!!’. Insulin resistance means that the cells are not taking in insulin easily and/or the internal mechanism of the cell which deals with insulin isn’t working.
One of my clients yesterday has been exercising his butt off, changing his diet and weight hasn’t come off. Yesterday his insulin resistance was huge (about 6x maximum level for ’safe’ insulin levels – no wonder his body isn’t losing weight. The small amounts of carbohydrates he’s having (fruits, rice crackers, bread…hmmm, and cereals) are simply storing as fat. His body can’t handle them at the moment.
By the way, insulin is a very inflammatory hormone when out of whack – it can be a major cause of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and pain.
Luckily we have some fabulous products which help reverse insulin resistance.

We’re having a few small talks in November 2009, about pain drugs – getting off the pain drug merry-go-round! Sounds like a familiar story for someone you know and love? Or you maybe? Without drugs life just isn’t worth living, but with the drugs it’s not much chop either??!!
Pain drug useage is so common, people don’t think twice about it. Panadols are $2 for 24 tablets – how easy it is to get addicted to these drugs and what are they doing to our health? An aspirin a day for the Over 50’s; so many people on blood thinners, blood pressure tablets, pain killers, many drugs which are seen to be as life-long habits. One per day. Easy. Not that we’re saying get off your drugs, but there are other alternatives which many doctors and specialists simply don’t know about.
The problem with the body is that everytime we take a drug we are not just affecting the system we want to affect. Blood thinners don’t just thin the blood, they thin the gut lining (often causing leaky-gut which we see easily in our live blood analysis) too. Blood pressure tablets aim at slowing blood pressure, but it often causes side effects such as weight gain and exhaustion. Pain drugs numb the pain but don’t fix the problem.
What’s the solution? Come along to our free talk on Wednesday morning or Thursday evening, meet Madonna & see what New Leaf Natural Therapies has to offer!
Everyone gets $150 bonus for attending – can you pass that up??
